Every record needs a reason.
Our planned research standard starts with evidence of a real investment and ends with a human review. Here is the method — and its limits.
Recent, actual activity
Active means a sourced AI investment within 180 days. Warm means 181–365 days and is a separate category. Raising a fund is a discovery signal, not an investment.
An official open door
Pitch instructions must come from an investor’s or fund’s own controlled page and explicitly welcome founder submissions. A guessed email address is never evidence.
A human review
A reviewer checks the quote, date, identity and source before a record can be published. Uncertain fields stay unknown rather than being inferred.
What the published directory will include
Pre-seed and seed AI investors with verifiable recent activity and an official pitch channel. The main view will focus on Active records; older Warm activity will be clearly labeled. Records without an official channel remain candidates, outside the main directory.
Sources and verification
Permitted public company announcements, investor and fund websites, permitted news feeds and public filings help us discover candidates. An exact supporting quote must be present in the source text. A public filing alone does not establish a specific investor’s AI check.
Pitch preferences and contact channels need first-party support. We do not automate collection from LinkedIn, resell other investor databases, bypass logins or guess contact details.
Freshness and corrections
The proposed workflow publishes reviewed additions weekly and a formal release monthly. A record’s investment date and last verification date are distinct. Stale records need review; removed records must stay out of future releases.
What this cannot tell you
Private investments may never appear in public sources. A past AI investment does not prove current interest, available capital or a willingness to back your company. “Unknown” is a useful answer. No score can predict a reply or a funding outcome.
About this release
All 20 preview records are synthetic, with illustrative dates and quotes. The optional development seed contains 50 synthetic profiles; the production database has no real investor records yet. These counts describe test data, not research coverage or traction.
